Our outreach to the community and the world

What are MISSIONS?

Missions on this website are defined as Calvary Fluvanna’s efforts to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to people outside of our church body.  We seek to obey Jesus’ great commission to:

 Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

And Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations.  (Matthew 28:19) 

This is our assignment as Christians and we try to fulfill it both in our own community and in other parts of the world.

Every born again Christian should be engaged somehow in missions.  While you may not be able to quit your job and move to Asia as a missionary, perhaps you can spend a few hours each month manning our Prayer Station sharing the gospel with those in our own community (see F.E.E.T. page). 

Some of you are supporting missionaries and ministries reaching the lost in foreign countries.  But what if you have no time or money to spare?  Even a single mom with three little kids can pray together with her children for local and overseas missionaries.  We can all pray for and write to Christians imprisoned for their faith in Communist and Muslim countries.  We can also pray for opportunities to share Christ with our neighbors and co-workers.

Other Missions We Support

Calvary Chapel Fluvanna supports a number of other ministries.  We also sponsor several pastors, workers, and evangelists through Gospel for Asia and Voice of the Martyrs.  More detailed information about this will be posted here soon.
